2017 marks the eighth year for the annual Home Grown Farm Tour. On August 26th, enjoy the self-guided tour featuring eight venues highlighting the diversity of local farms and nearly 250 years of history in Washington County. Start your day off at the Washington County Courthouse Farmer’s Market in Potosi, Missouri. There will be an information booth, and local craft displays along side market delights of produce, homemade jams, breads and honey.
Over the past 7 years of the Farm Tour, we’ve met so many great small growers and producers in the county that we couldn’t fit them all into the tour. This year, we’ve gathered them together under one BIG tent, donated by the Food Train, to present the 1ST ANNUAL HOMEGROWN FARM FETE @ EDG CLIF.
There will be antique farm equipment on display, a haystack for the kids to jump in and animals… alpacas for sure and maybe goats & chickens, too! Local folks will be selling their produce, homegrown beef, honey, homemade jellies, jams, soaps, baskets, hand spun wool, grilled sausages, and hot kettle corn. So, during your tour of the Farmer’s Markets, growers and farms, don’t forget the Farm Fete at Edg Clif. We’ll be open Saturday, August 26th from 10 AM til 5 PM.
Please join us Saturday evening, August 26th for our 8th annual Field Dinner hosted by Edg Clif Farms and Vineyard. The event is a 5-course dinner which begins at 5:30 in the Barrel Room with appetizers featuring locally made cheeses, Edg Clif wine, beer and sausages hand made by Jon Emanuel of the Old Caledonian. Music will be provided by Potosi Mayor T.R. Dudley. Dinner will be served al fresco in the Pavilion at long, harvest-style tables. This year we’re featuring a whole pig roast and rotisserie chickens… all homegrown free range. Each year the Field Dinner supports 2 Agriculture scholarships and a Farm Business grant for Washington County residents. Tickets for the dinner are $60 each and go on sale July 1. Call Debby at 573-438-8555 for tickets, reservations or more information.
